Bajaj Auto exports surged dramatically in January 2025 even as the company witnessed significantly lower 2W domestic sales
Bajaj Auto Limited has reported a 7% growth in sales at 3,81,040 units in January 2025. These outstanding sales were boosted primarily for improved exports both across the 2W and CV segments. The company had sold a total of 3,56,010 units in Jan 2024.

A breakup of Bajaj sales in terms of 2W and CVs, showed positive results in January 2025. The two wheeler segment, that included both domestic sales and exports, grew by 7% to 3,28,413 units. This was over 3,08,248 units sold in Jan 2024. There was an 11% decline in 2W domestic sales to 1,71,299 units in Jan 2025, from 1,93,350 units sold in Jan 2024. This related to a volume decline of 22,051 units. Exports, on the other hand, surged by 37% to 1,57,114 units as compared to 1,14,898 units shipped in the same month last year.
CV sales too were boosted thanks to increased global demand while sales in domestic markets showed a marginal 1% growth. CV domestic sales accounted for 37,060 units, a 1% YoY improvement from 36,693 units sold in Jan 2024. Exports, however, rose by 41% to 15,567 units, well over 11,069 units shipped in Jan 2024. This took total exports up by 10% to 52,627 units, marking a 4,865 unit volume increase. Total domestic sales (2W + CV) thus declined by 9% to 2,08,359 units on a YoY basis. Exports jumped 37% to 1,72,681 units. There had been 2,30,043 2Ws and 1,25,967 CVs sold in Jan 2024.
Bajaj Auto YTD Sales Jan 2025
On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, Bajaj Auto has seen positive responses both to its 2W and CV lineups. Sales growth was also recorded both in domestic and exports markets. Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter continues to command a strong presence in its segment, significantly contributing to increase sales.
Domestic 2W sales grew by 4% YTD to 19,78,452 units in the April-Jan 2025 period, well over 18,97,054 units sold in the same 10 month period of the previous year. Exports showed a double digit improvement by 14% to 13,88,707 units, in the YTD period of 2024 over 12,22,300 units shipped in the same period of 2024. Volume gains stood at 1,66,407 units. This total 2W sales and exports went up to 33,67,159 units in the April-Jan 2025 period, an 8% growth from 31,19,354 units sold in the same period of 2024.
CV YTD sales too showed positive domestic sales (4,04,344 units) and exports (1,57,569 units) to a total of 5,61,913 units in April-Jan 2025 from 5,19,013 units sold in the same 10 month period of 2024. It took total sales (2W + CV) (Domestic + Exports) to 39,29,072 units in April-Jan 2025, a YTD improvement of 8% over 36,38,367 unit sales in the April-Jan 2024 period.
With new offerings in the Pulsar and Dominar range, as spy shots reveal, Bajaj Auto could see improved sales in the coming months.
