Hyderabad: Global music sensation Ed Sheeran brought his record-breaking + – = ÷ x Tour to Hyderabad for an electrifying performance at Ramoji Film City. With a memorable show in Pune earlier, the much-awaited Hyderabad debut of Sheeran is sure to remain special for the rest of the stops for his six-city India tour.
The evening began with an electrifying set by Indian singer-songwriter Armaan Malik, who had the audience in a tizzy with his renditions of Pehla Pyaar, Sau Aasman, and Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon, setting the stage for Sheeran’s arrival.
The energy had reached its peak when Sheeran came on stage wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with “Hyderabad.” He opened with Castle on the Hill, which immediately fired up the crowd. It was a seamless interaction that made him resort to a very personal space even in a place like Gaffanni’s, including an emotional tribute to Give Me Love, where he said, “When I close my eyes, I think I’m playing to an empty room, and when I open them, I see all of you wonderful people.”

Every sound in his concerts is live, but it’s erased afterwards, making the show very unique. Using a loop station, he layered beats, melodies, and harmonies in real-time, giving birth to an immersive musical experience.
Ending with an energetic performance of You Need Me, I Don’t Need You and Shape of You for an encore, Sheeran ended the night with Bad Habits. And long after that final note had faded, it was clear the energy of that evening was just not going anywhere.
