Vijayawada: Nandigama police in NTR district foiled a contract killing plot and arrested four individuals involved in the crime. The arrested were identified as Narasimha Rao (45) of Aithavaram village, his associate Gopuraju, Palampalli Vijay Kumar and Saidulu.
According to Nandigama inspector YVVL Naidu,Narasimha was enraged after his daughter got married against his wishes about 14 months ago. He felt humiliated by the villagers’ remarks and held one Muvva Gopi, who had supported his daughter’s marriage, responsible for his humiliation. Hence, he sought professional killers to get Gopi killed.
Towards the end of last year, Narasimha travelled to Kothapet in Hyderabad, where he met Vijay and Saidulu. He offered them a payment of 1 lakh to kill Gopi. Later, the four persons arrived in Aithavaram during Sankranti to monitor Gopi’s movements. However, they failed to execute their plan and returned to Hyderabad.
The accused revisited Nandigama on Sunday. However, their suspicious behaviour in the town caught the attention of the police. Upon questioning, they confessed to the murder plot. Four rooster knives and 2,000 in cash were recovered from them.
Police registered a case and produced them before the court. The court remanded the four accused.
