Hyderabad: Two notorious automobile thieves nabbed, six bikes worth Rs. 4 lakh recovered

Hyderabad: The Bachupally Police nabbed two notorious automobile thieves involved in several bike theft cases and recovered six bikes, altogether worth Rs 4 lakh on Monday. They escaped with bike on the pretext of test rides, police said.

The arrested persons are Ramesh Babu and Chandramolu Gundappa, both food delivery executives from Suraram in Quthbullapur. The absconding suspect is P Narasimha.

According to the police, the suspects glance through e-commerce websites and target customers intending to sell their used two-wheelers.

“They reach the seller posing as prospective buyers and divert his attention and flee with the bikes on the pretext of a test drive. While any one or two gang members commit the offence, the third one observes the surroundings,” said K. Suresh Kumar, DCP Balanagar Zone.

They were involved in similar cases in the past including in Miyapur, Jagadgirigutta and KPHB.

Based on a recent complaint, the Bachupally police booked a case and arrested the thieves.
