As people react with outrage, old clips of him kissing singers Alka Yagnik and Shreya Ghoshal have also resurfaced, raising more concerns.
One clip from Indian Idol shows Udit kissing Alka Yagnik on the cheek, leaving her visibly uncomfortable. In another video, he does the same at a separate event, where Alka looks uneasy.

A different clip captures him kissing Shreya Ghoshal as she receives an award, leading to an awkward reaction before she forces a smile.
The most shocking videos involve female fans. In one, a fan tries to take a selfie with him, but he tilts his head and kisses her on the lips. In another, he suddenly kisses a fan mid-hug. These videos have led to widespread criticism, with many calling out his inappropriate behavior.

However, Udit Narayan has brushed off the controversy. He said, “Fans are crazy. We are decent people. Some people encourage this and show their love this way. What’s the point of making a big deal out of it?
Fans think they’re getting a chance to meet, so they extend their hands for a handshake, some kiss the hands… this is just fans’ craze. It shouldn’t be given so much attention.”
His response has made things worse. Ignoring clear signs of discomfort and dismissing concerns as “crazy fans” shows a lack of understanding about personal boundaries. Just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t mean they can kiss people without consent.
Respect and consent should always come first, no matter how famous someone is. Fans may admire their idols, but that doesn’t mean they should be put in uncomfortable situations. Instead of dismissing the issue, Udit Narayan should acknowledge the problem and set a better example.
