Kamineni Hospitals hosts drone show for cancer awareness


Hyderabad: In a unique initiative, Kamineni Hospitals hosted a grand drone show with 200 drones at GD Goenka School, Rock Town Residents Colony, LB Nagar. The event was organized to raise awareness about cancer on the occasion of World Cancer Day. The drones showcased cutting-edge technology, emphasizing the importance of early detection and timely treatment of cancer.

The event saw participation from over 5,000 attendees, including students and local residents from LB Nagar, Nagole, and Chaitanyapuri areas.

Prominent participants included Kamineni Hospitals COO Dr. Gayatri Kamineni, Senior Consultant Surgical Oncologists Dr. M. Srinivas Reddy and Dr. G. Avinash Reddy, Consultant ENT and Head & Neck Oncology Surgeon Dr. Harsh Suri, Senior Consultant Medical Oncologists Dr. S. Jayanti, Senior Consultant Medical Oncologists, Heamato onncologists Dr. M. Srinivas and Dr. P. Venkatasimha, Consultant Radiation Oncologists Dr. Kiran Kumar Annaraju and Dr. Sravanth Kammat. The event also had the presence of GD Goenka School Director Mrs. Nivedita Shivakumar, Principal Mrs. Jagadeeshwari Nataraj, and Operational Head Mr. Rishi Dastani.

The show, held from 7:00 PM to 7:15 PM, highlighted advancements in cancer prevention and treatment, stories of survival, and the importance of social responsibility. The drones, flying at heights ranging from 65 to 300 feet, illuminated the sky with LED lights, creating a spectacular display.

While drone shows are typically entertainment-focused, this event stood out by spreading awareness about cancer. The initiative was supported by AirBotics, with all drones designed and manufactured in India. The drones operated within an invisible boundary using geofencing technology.

Dr. Gayatri Kamineni stated, “We need to eliminate the fear surrounding cancer. With advanced treatments and early detection, it is possible to combat this disease effectively. Modern medical technologies are available for diagnosis and treatment. It is crucial to consult a medical expert promptly upon noticing any symptoms.”

Senior Consultant Surgical Oncologist Dr. Srinivas Reddy added, “Cancer is a global concern. India now has access to cutting-edge treatments, including robotic surgeries. Early detection is key to successfully overcoming the disease.”

Kamineni Hospitals’ LB Nagar Oncology Department has been at the forefront of cancer treatment since its inception in October 2023. The department provides treatments for various cancers, including head and neck, cervix, esophagus, colon and rectum, breast, prostate, stomach, lung, and leukemia. It has successfully treated 23,955 cases to date, offering radiation, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and surgical oncology under one roof.

The drone show marks a significant milestone in their mission to promote cancer awareness and encourage early detection.
