Hyderabad: The Prajavani programme received 7,142 applications at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan here on Tuesday, 4,860 of them being for the Indiramma housing. Another 1,861 were related to ration cards. Both these schemes were launched on January 26.
The panchayat raj and rural development department received 175 applications, electricity 135 and another 46 were regarding revenue-related issues. One application was submitted under Pravasi Prajavani (NRI-related matters), while 64 applications were directed to other departments.
Planning commission vicechairman Dr G. Chinna Reddy and nodal officer Divya accepted the applications and assured the applicants that their papers would be processed quickly.
