Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to further expand its EV (electric vehicle) product portfolio with two new models this year – XUV 3XO EV and XUV 7e. While the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will hit roads in coming months to challenge the Tata Nexon EV, the Mahindra xuv 7e (the electric iteration of the XUV700) will be rolled out towards the end of this year. The fresh spy images of the XUV 3XO compact electric SUV, which have emerged on the web, revealed some interesting details.
The design and styling of the electric XUV 3XO will be similar to its ICE counterpart. However, it’s expected to feature a newly-designed grille (a closed-off unit), slightly revised air dam and a charging port at the front. The alloy wheels will be new with aero inserts. A few changes are also expected to be made at the rear profile. Design elements such as bi-LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs with front turn indicators, rear LED light bar, LED indicators on wing mirrors and LED taillamps are likely to be carried forward from the ICE-powered XUV 3XO.

Similarly, the interior of the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will have exactly same layout and features as the regular model. Features such as a 360 degree camera with blind view monitor, Level 2 ADAS, electronic parking brake with auto hold, front parking sensors, leatherette upholstery, leatherette on dashboard and door trims, Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, and USB C fast charging will be reserved for the top trims.

The powertrain details of the new Mahindra electric SUV are still under the wraps. If reports are to be believed, this compact EV might borrow the 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery packs from the XUV400. The latter one with the small and bigger batteries offers a claimed range of 375km and 456km, respectively.
