Bhatti assures detailed caste survey report

Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka assured the public on Wednesday that a more detailed report of the Socio-Economic, Educational, Employment, Political, and Caste (SEEEPC) Survey would be released soon. He encouraged those who missed the opportunity to participate in the recent survey to still share their information, emphasising that their contributions are welcome.
Addressing the media at the secretariat, Bhatti underlined the survey’s importance as a comprehensive tool for understanding the state’s socio-economic landscape.
Comparing the survey to a comprehensive health check-up for society, Bhatti said, “The entire nation is now looking at Telangana following our successful caste census.” He criticised certain parties and leaders for launching a misleading campaign aimed at obstructing the caste census. “Despite their efforts, the people recognised the govt’s intentions and supported the survey, dismissing the negative narrative. We are grateful for their support,” he added.
The deputy CM assured that the caste census was conducted transparently and scientifically. He reminded the public that the Congress party had fulfilled its promise to initiate the caste census upon taking office, highlighting the govt’s commitment to addressing the needs of Backward Classes and marginalised communities. He emphasised that the survey would offer solutions to long-standing issues faced by these communities.
Laxman flays survey
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member and former Telangana BJP chief K. Laxman criticised the survey, claiming it inaccurately represented the population figures of BCs. He described the survey as flawed and unscientific, suggesting that if CM Revanth Reddy truly cared about social justice, he would have introduced legislation for BC reservations.
