Cops crack down on intl drug peddling network, two foreign nationals held

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) on Wednesday arrested two Nigerian nationals in separate cases for allegedly peddling drugs.
In the first case, police apprehended Oliver, alias Johnson, a Nigerian residing in Mumbai, at Langar Houz in the city. Officials seized 1,300 grams of MDMA from him, valued at Rs 1.6 crore. Oliver worked for Oyibo, a resident of Delhi, and sourced the drug for Rs 300 per gram, selling it for Rs 600 to Rs 1,000 per gram to Nigerian nationals in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
“Oyibo handed him three packets of MDMA, totalling 1,300 grams, and instructed him to go to Hyderabad,” police said. After he arrived in Hyderabad, police arrested him based on a tip-off.
In the second case, police arrested Moussa Camara, alias Romeo, a Guinean national, at Tolichowki. Camara had come to India on a medical visa in 2017 but was caught smuggling cocaine at Mumbai airport. “He served six months in Arthur Road Jail,” officials said. After relocating to Bengaluru in 2024, he allegedly started peddling drugs in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, another Nigerian national, Ikechukwu Sylvester Mbah, previously arrested by Mumbai police for drug peddling and later released, was recently apprehended in Humayun Nagar for overstaying and continuing to sell drugs. Hyderabad police are now initiating his deportation.
