Hyderabad: A speeding Mini Cooper crashed into Hyderabad collector Anudeep Durishetty’s official vehicle at Banjara Hills late on Monday. The vehicle driver, D Hemanth Kumar, escaped unhurt in the incident, but the official car, an Innova, was badly damaged. The collector, however, was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The Mini Cooper driver fled from the spot after the accident.
After a complaint from the collector’s driver, Banjara Hills police have registered a case and started an investigation.
“We are in the process of identifying the car and its driver. Accordingly, the investigation will proceed,” a Banjara Hills police officer said.
Police said on Monday evening, when Hemanth Kumar was proceeding towards the collector’s official residence on Road No. 13, Banjara Hills, en route on Road No. 12, the Mini Cooper coming in the opposite direction crashed into the vehicle.
Without even stopping, the vehicle driver went ahead at the same speed and disappeared into the traffic. As a result of the crash, the windshields, bumper, and the door on the front right were also badly damaged, the officer added.
