Eluru: A police complaint was filed by the family members of a 60-year-old woman, who died while undergoing MRI scan at a private diagnostic laboratory in Eluru on Tuesday. Eluru Two Town police have booked a case of suspicious death under section 194 of BNS and have initiated an investigation.
Two Town SI Ramakrishna said the deceased, Nallagaccha Rama Tulasi, was admitted to Ayush hospital and undergoing dialysis due to kidney problems. She also had heart issues, due to which a pacemaker was implanted about two years back. Doctors at Ayush hospital had referred her to a private diagnostic lab in Eluru to undergo an MRI scan as they suspected blood clots in her brain. The woman died while undergoing the scan. Her husband alleged that the diagnostic centre did not follow the prescribed procedure due to which she died, and demanded to know the cause of death. Officials at the district medical and health dept said they conducted an inquiry into the incident, and found that the pacemaker was compatible to MRI scanning.
