Hyderabad: The Director General of Police has placed under suspension a DSP rank official for allegedly colluding with some persons and helping in kidnap of a realtor from Mokila village in 2023. The DSP is cited as an accused in the case registered in November 2023.
The DSP working with the cyber crime unit had allegedly passed on information about the whereabouts of a person after checking the Telangana police apps. Using the available information, a few persons had allegedly kidnapped one Srinivas Raju at Nagulapally village in Mokila. They later took him to the local land registration office and forced him to transfer 30 acres of land in their name.
Srinivas Raju later approached the police and lodged a complaint. The police who arrested the kidnappers during investigation came to know that they had obtained the information of the whereabouts of Srinivas Raju through the DSP.
The police then made the DSP as an accused in the case and wrote a report to the police higher ups who a few days ago placed the DSP under suspension.
