EC Grants Permission for Amaravati Construction Tenders

The Election Commission of India (EC) has given the green light for calling tenders related to construction works in Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. However, the EC has stipulated that the finalization of tenders should only occur after the completion of the ongoing MLC election process in Krishna and Guntur districts.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) recently sought permission from the EC to proceed with construction-related tenders in Amaravati. Responding to the request, the EC clarified that there is no objection to initiating the tender process. However, it emphasized that the finalization of tenders must wait until the election process concludes.

With the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in effect due to the MLC elections, the EC’s decision ensures that the election process remains unaffected. The CRDA has been advised to proceed cautiously, adhering to the EC’s guidelines to avoid any violations.
