The vehicle owner, Md Mustoddin, had purchased the electric autorickshaw recently. On Wednesday night, he plugged in the charger and went to sleep. Later, his neighbors noticed flames coming from the vehicle and quickly alerted him.

Nizamabad: The owner of an electric auto had a shock of his life literally, when his chief means of livelihood got gutted in a fire mishap on Wednesdy night.
The vehicle owner Md Mustoddin bought the electric autorickshaw sometime ago and on Wednesday night, he connected the charger and slept. Later in the night, neighbours noticed flames erupting from the vehicle and alerted him.
By the time, he rushed and out tried to douse the flames, the vehicle was completely gutted.
It is not immediately known whether the fire emanaged due to overcharging of the vehicle or some other reason. Police have registered a case.
