Hyderabad: BIS Hyderabad branch office organized an awareness program on hallmarking for jewellers at Vikarabad which was attended by around 50 participants.
The program aimed to educate jewellers about the importance of hallmarking, recent developments in hallmarking, and the Hallmark Unique Identification (HUID) system.
O Veeraiah, Resource Person, Ex-BIS Officer, highlighted the significance of hallmarking and provided an overview of BIS.
Prashanthi, Hallmarking representative, delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the latest developments in mandatory hallmarking and the HUID system. They also explained the registration procedure for jewelers through the National Single Window System (NSWS).
The program also covered consumer protection and the BIS CARE App.
