Hyderabad: A woman and her son were allegedly attacked by four unknown persons at their residence in Chilkalguda on Thursday. After an initial probe, cops are still baffled about the ‘attack’.
Following the alleged assault, Renuka, 55, and her son Yashwanth, 35, have been undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. When police questioned Renuka, she said that four persons attacked them after barging into their home.
However, a source associated with the investigation told TOI, “When we verified nearby CCTV footage, we did not come across any persons approaching them. So, we need to speak to the injured again in detail.”
After the injured raised a hue and cry, locals entered the house and found them. An ambulance was called, and they were shifted to Gandhi Hospital.
Yashwanth underwent surgery for the injuries until last reports, and his mother is also receiving treatment, but she is out of danger.
A few persons who were near the house of the injured were taken into custody and questioned. Later, police found that they were not related to the crime. An attempt to murder case was registered, and an investigation is ongoing. Yashwanth is an employee of a railway contractor.
