CM seeks NITI Aayog’s support for Swarnandhra | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu urged for NITI Aayog’s support to achieve the Swarnandhra-2047 goals. He met NITI Aayog vice chairman Suman Bery on Friday to discuss the vision document, challenges before Andhra Pradesh, and the support it needed from Union govt.
State govt is working with the aim to achieve the target of ‘one family – one AI professional – one entrepreneur,’ the chief minister said. He sought cooperation of NITI Aayog in providing innovations and technology. He mentioned that the state aims to grow at 15% to become a 2.4 trillion-dollar economy by 2047, thereby reaching a per capita income of $42,000. He was optimistic that with NITI Aayog’s support, AP will become a model state in the pursuit of a developed India by 2047.
CM Naidu emphasised that the focus of Swarnandhra-2047 is on economic growth, skill development, industries, and sustainability. However, AP is facing challenges, particularly unresolved financial disputes between the two states due to the bifurcation and losing Hyderabad, which is a growth engine, he said.
“Andhra Pradesh is lacking a growth engine that can generate revenues for its revenue. Previous govt’s negligence in development of the state capital also added to the woes of AP,” the chief minister added.
Despite having several problems, CM Naidu expressed confidence in overcoming all hurdles by leveraging the advantages AP is having.
“With the third-largest coastline in the country, connectivity through ports, railways, and highways, three industrial corridors, and being a gateway to East Asia and Southeast Asia, AP is poised to attract investments in renewable energy and data technologies,” he said.
Moreover, the chief minister sought NITI Aayog’s cooperation in transforming Tirupati – Amaravati into a regional growth hub along with the Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER), which is one of the four growth hubs in the country.
