Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former president of the Telangana NGOs’ Association G. Deviprasad Rao has stated that government employees are in fear even with the idea of retirement from service on attaining the age of superannuation, as nearly 9,000 of those who retired since December 2023 are yet to get their retirement benefits from the government.

Speaking to newspersons here on Friday, he said that those approaching the retirement day were highly concerned about getting the retirement benefits as 8,764 employees who had retired from service till January 25 from Mach 2024 are yet to get the benefits. Pensioners were spending sleepless nights over the inordinate delay in getting monetary benefits.

While some of those waiting for the benefits were making rounds of the Secretariat hoping that they would get it sooner than later, some others had approached the High Court seeking justice and directions to the State Government to settle their retirement benefits. Under BRS Government, employees were getting the retirement benefits soon after hanging their boots.

“Not only are the retirement benefits getting delayed under the Congress Government, even contract and outsourced employees are not getting their salaries on the first of every month,” he said.
