New-Gen Kia Seltos – 7 BIG Changes (Expected)

The Kia Seltos is one of the start performers for the South Korean automaker when it comes to sales. This mid-size SUV was first offering from Kia India, launched in 2019. Since then, the model received a few minor updates along with a major facelift in 2023. Now, its ready for a generation shift as competition is intensifies with the arrival of new products and regular updates of the existing models. The carmaker has already started testing the new Kia Seltos, which is likely to debut towards the end of this year. There is no official word on its launch yet; however, it’s expected to hit roads in 2026.

Spy images have revealed some exciting details of the new Seltos. Let’s take a look what are they and what else we can expect from its new model.

Design EV5 Inspired:

The design and styling of the new Kia Seltos will be heavily inspired by the EV5especially the front and rear sections. It will carry a slightly revised front grille, tweaked bumper and newly-designed LED headlamps. The SUV will come with the diamond-cut, new alloy wheels, dual-tone ORVMs, revised rear bumper and new LED taillamps. The boxy stance and original silhouette will remain intact.

Classed-Up Interior:

Kia has already equipped the Seltos quite well. The generational change is likely to make it a more premium offering in terms of material quality and features. The new Kia Seltos is expected to come with the new dual-tone seat upholstery, multi-layered dashboard, revised door trims and headrest, a new two-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting system.

Hybrid Powertrain?

A major upgrade is likely to come in the form of a 141bhp, 1.6L hybrid powertrain with an AWD (all-wheel drive) system. The existing 1.5L petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines will continue to be on offer. While the gasoline delivers a maximum power of 115bhp and 144Nm of torque, the oil burner is good enough for 116bhp and 250. The new Kia Seltos lineup will continue to offer the four gearbox options – 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed AT and CVT.
