Hyderabad: Narsingi police have registered a criminal case against five persons in connection with the rape of a minor girl.
Investigators said that though the crime took place in Sept 2024, the survivor’s family approached the police and lodged a complaint only a few days ago.
Based on their complaint, the police registered a case of violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso).
It is learnt that the survivor recently complained of feeling unwell. When her parents inquired, she revealed the incident. The girl’s family then approached the police, who took the suspects into custody and an investigation is underway.
“Investigations are on to ascertain the facts,” said Narsingi inspector G Hari Krishna Reddy. The girl was sent for medical examination after the case was filed on Wednesday. The suspects, who are adults, are reportedly from Hydershahkote. tnn
