Even during the best and worst of times, there is one constant with the Vancouver Canucks over the last three years— beating the Toronto Maple Leafs.

“We All Know What Talent He Has And What He’s Capable Of”: Canucks GM Details What Elias Pettersson Needs To Do To Reach His Potential
Dating back to Feb 12, 2022, Vancouver is 5-2-0 in their last seven contests against Toronto. And while the Maple Leafs saw consistent regular season success during that short window, the same can’t be said for the Canucks.
The Canucks made the playoffs just once during this timeframe and finished in the top half of the Pacific Division a single time.
As the Canucks look to make the postseason for the second time in as many years, let’s look at who’s performed well against the Maple Leafs in recent history.
The Canucks’ Leaf ‘Killers’
Quinn Hughes may only play Toronto only twice a year, but it would be safe to define him as a Maple Leaf killer. Since 2022, Hughes has ten points in seven games against Toronto, nine of which are assists. Going back further, the Canucks captain is riding a nine-game point against Toronto.

Likewise, Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson score above or at a point-per-game clip against Toronto. Boeser — three goals, five assists — and Pettersson — two goals, five assists — hold more than their own against the Maple Leafs. The two forwards have seen their production dip as of late, so a game against a foe they typically light up could help get their scoring back on track.
Notably, Tyler Myers has four assists against Toronto over this stretch.
Toronto has had seven different goaltenders tend the crease in their last seven games against Vancouver.
7 different Maple Leafs goaltenders have suited up against the Canucks over their last 7 meetings.

But regardless of who’s in the net, the Canucks top guns seem to show up against whoever is backstopping the Maple Leafs.
Looking To Saturday Night
The Canucks blanked the Maple Leafs 3-0 in their earlier season matchup. Myers and Hughes co-led the Canucks in scoring; that game came during a rough stretch for the Canucks where a lack of scoring and locker room disarray plagued the team.
Since then, Vancouver has managed to string some wins together and look rejuvenated after reshaping its roster. Moving on from J.T. Miller shook up the organization’s offensive look — especially from the grit and size aspect — but the injection of speed from acquiring Filip Chytil and Drew O’Connor has brought new life to the Canucks.
For the Maple Leafs, not having to play Miller may prove beneficial in their pursuit of victory. Miller has scored six goals and ten points over the last seven games he’s played against Toronto.
One team is vying for the top seed in their division, and the other is trying to stay above the playoff line. For the Canucks, coming out strong against a team they’ve done well against in recent history will be crucial as they try to find secure footing in the playoff race.
