Visakhapatnam: Parvathipuram-Manyam district collector A Shyam Prasad visited Lodda, a remote village in the district, where he interacted with the local tribal community and observed their way of life.
He learned about their traditional attire and examined their food habits.
Speaking to the collector, tribals explained that they make a living by selling a small range of crops in the local market.
The collector explained that providing facilities, such as improved marketing, could help generate more income through value addition. He assured them that necessary arrangements would be made to support them. He also remarked on the beauty of the waterfalls in the Lodda area, highlighting the potential for increased tourism. He stated that steps would be taken to further enhance tourism opportunities in the region.
Shyam Prasad reached the waterfalls by trekking and shared that he experienced the pleasant atmosphere of the area. He said that the day spent with the tribals would remain a cherished memory in his life. He expressed his commitment to exploring every possible avenue to enhance both tourism and preservation of traditional cultural practices in the Lodda area. He praised the innocence of tribals and their delightful way of life. He added that once the flow of tourists to the waterfall increases, small-scale businesses would thrive, and income sources would grow. Local youth accompanied the district collector on his visit.
