Hyderabad:Working silently, hundreds of resolute RSS activists from the city played a key role in the mega success of the Maha Kumbh mela, the world’s largest religious congregation, at Prayagraj.
The mega event has attracted over 40 crore people so far, including globally-acclaimed personalities, who all endeavoured to boost the spirit of Hindu nationalism.
On their part, the RSS activists worked from the centralised monitoring centre that used artificial technology to keep tabs on the `Ganga Seva Dhoot’ programme, which looked after cleanliness, including toilets and roads. RSS activists from the city went in batches to take care of different works voluntarily.
Vinayak Reddy from Gowliguda Chaman said that his 15-member team had ensured cleanliness at the ghats and other riverfront areas. He said that around 2,000 volunteers from different parts of the country were trained in crowd management.
“We extended our service at free langars in order to maintain a plastic-free atmosphere,” Reddy told Deccan Chronicle.
Amulu, Renuka and Nagamani, members of Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, said that they were involved in `Gyan maha kumbh’ programmes, which focused on Sanatana shiksha.
“We mainly acted as guides to pilgrims coming from different parts of the country,” they said.
Suresh Krishna from Gunfoundry said that he and six others had played a supportive role at the centralised monitoring centre that handled surveillance with thousands of CCTV cameras across the 25 sectors in the kumbh surroundings from the AI-powered integrated command control centre.
