According to reports, Siddharth, who was suffering from cold and fever for several days, was taken to a nursing home by his mother, Dasaroju Nagamani, for a checkup. However, the student allegedly collapsed and died within seconds of receiving an injection prescribed by the attending physician.
The family members, including the bereaved mother, have alleged medical negligence, claiming the death was directly linked to the administered injection. The incident has raised serious questions about the medical procedures followed at the nursing home.
“We have taken this incident very seriously and have launched a comprehensive investigation. The Council has directed the medical facility to provide a detailed explanation of the treatment protocol, including all investigations advised and the rationale behind the injection administered. We are committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in this case,” a TGMC representative said.
TGMC has issued a notice to the nursing home, requiring them to submit all relevant documents, including hospital registration certificates from the district medical and health officer and registration certificates from the Telangana Medical Council, within seven days.
The nursing home representatives have been summoned to appear in person before the TGMC chairman and registrar. Failure to comply with these directives might result in the case being referred to the ethics committee for appropriate legal action.
