Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud lashed out at Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao for demanding a re-survey of the caste census. He reiterated that the survey was carried out by covering every household in the State in a scientific manner, with the involvement of over one lakh enumerators.

In a statement here on Sunday, Mr. Goud accused Mr.Rama Rao of making baseless charges regarding the BC caste census and attempting to discredit the Congress government’s efforts to uplift the Backward Classes (BCs). He highlighted that the Congress government had completed the caste census survey following the promise made by Rahul Gandhi and that the BC community would not forgive BRS for its anti-BC attitude.

The TPCC president criticised the previous BRS government for its comprehensive family survey in 2014 that was not ‘released’. He questioned Mr.Rama Rao’s motives, suggesting that he was unable to bear the Congress government’s efforts to do justice to the BCs .

Mr.Goud also said it was ironic that the BRS leader and his family members, who did not participate in the census survey, were advocating for a re-survey. He also slammed Mr.Rama Rao for speaking about weaker sections, citing the immense injustice faced by the BCs during the BRS’ 10-year rule.

Meanwhile, the senior Congress leader alleged that the BRS party lacked candidates to contest MLC elections and was indirectly supporting the BJP.
