WARANGAL: Thousands of farmers, farm labourers, and BRS leaders staged protests across 179 village panchayats in Narsampet Assembly Constituency, Warangal, on Monday, accusing the Congress government of failing to fulfil its promises to the farming community.
Led by former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudharshana Reddy, the demonstrations saw around 20,000 people participating. They held placards demanding action on loan waivers, Rythu Bima, Rythu Bharosa schemes, and agricultural bonuses.
Reddy criticised the government, calling the bonus scheme “bogus” and accusing it of burdening farmers instead of providing relief. He warned that unless the government delivers on its promises, protests will escalate.
The agitation saw local BRS leaders, including the Mandal Party president, former Market Committee vice-chairman, Mandal leaders, cluster in-charges, former sarpanches, MPTCs, and village party leaders taking part.
