BYD Sealion 7 will be the new electric offering from the Chinese automaker in India. This electric SUV, which made its public debut at this year’s Auto Expo, is all set to hit showrooms on 17th February, 2025. In the company’s product lineup, the Sealion 7 will sit above the Seal EV and take on the Kia EV6. Booking windows for the EV were opened last month, and customers can pre-book the vehicle by paying a sum of Rs 70,000. The carmaker has also announced exclusive early bird offers.
BYD Sealion 7: Range, Battery, Variants
In global markets the Sealion 7 is being offered in two variants – Premium and Performance. Both variants come with an 82.56kWh battery pack, delivering power worth 313bhp with 380N and 530bhp with 690Nm, respectively. While the Premium variant can do 0 to 100kmph in 6.7 seconds, the Performance version does the same in just 4.5 seconds. Both RWD (with Premium variant only) and AWD (with Performance variant only). BYD claims that the Sealion 7 Premium and Performance offer electric ranges of 567km and 542km, respectively (NEDC).
BYD Sealion 7: Colours, Platform, Dimensions
This BYD electric SUV comes in four different colour options, namely, Aurora White, Cosmos Black, Shark Grey and Atlantis Grey. It underpins the e-Platform 3.0, and measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. The EV offers a boot space of 520-litres, which can be expanded up to 1,789-litres with the rear seats folded down. Furthermore, it gets a 58-litres of frunk.
BYD Sealion 7: Cabin Features
Similar to BYD’s other EVs, the Sealion 7 comes with a host of features including a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a HUD (head-up display), an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, ventilated front seats, 12-speaker audio system, a panoramic glass roof, wireless phone charger, powered tailgate and V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality.

This new BYD electric SUV offers several advanced safety features such as 11 airbags, ADAS suite, a 360 degree camera, hill hold control, front and rear parking sensors, Isofix child seat mounts and more.
