Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is all set to hit showrooms in March 2025 as the carmaker’s first-ever EV offering in the country. Prior to its market arrival, the OEM is preparing to setup adequate charging infrastructure and provide better after-sales services through a leasing program and offering multiple finance options. The Indo-Japanese automaker plans to establish a fast charger at intervals of 10 kilometres in the top 100 cities nationwide.

Maruti’s Vision: e Vitara as a Primary EV
Speaking to an online media publicationPartho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, said that the company aims to position the Maruti e Vitara as the primary commuter for customers. To achieve this, “good after-sales support” is a key factor. Maruti Suzuki plans to offer after sales services across 1,000 cities. The e Vitara is reported to enter production later this year at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat manufacturing facility. This production plant will serve both domestic and export markets.
‘Service on Wheels’ for remote areas
Aiming to provide satisfactory services, the carmaker plans to offer ‘Service on Wheels’ program to resolve technical issues and breakdowns in areas where after-sales support is not available. To facilitate this, Maruti Suzuki will setup over 300 such mobile units.
Powertrain Details:
The Maruti e Vitara will come with two battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh – delivering power worth 144bhp and 174bhp, respectively. The single electric motor will be standard, while the dual motor AWD setup will be optional with the larger battery pack. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that its new electric SUV will offer a range of over 500km in its high-spec avatar.
First Maruti with ADAS:
The new Maruti EV has been built on the new Heatect-e platform, which is co-developed with Toyota. It will be the first Maruti Suzuki in India to come with the Level 2 ADAS suite along with the standard seven airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system and electronic parking brake. It will also have Suzuki Connect with 60+ advanced features and several advanced goodies.
