Hyderabad: The Telugu community in Malaysia has issued a warning about fake websites asking visitors to the country for a payment of $100 to obtain the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC), which can be obtained free through the govt website.
“But different websites are asking for a payment. We have sent out messages to both the Telugu community and Indian community in general not to fall prey to such websites,” Bureddy Mohan Reddy, who served as an office bearer of the Malaysia Telangana Association, told TOI.
“The fraudulent websites collecting money are sending all the required information to the official website and obtaining the genuine MDAC. They are charging $100 for a service which is free,” Mohan Reddy said.
