Vijayawada: With the aim to provide safer and comfortable travel experience to the passengers, the Railways announced that Satavahana express (trains -12713/ 12714) running between Vijayawada and Secunderabad will be equipped with the modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB), replacing the existing ICF coaches.
Elaborating on the benefits of the new LHB coaches, the railways said that the seats in the LHB coaches are ergonomically designed seats with better cushioning, air suspension systems, and wider windows for an enhanced journey experience, offering superior seating comfort.
The authorities further said the LHB coaches have enhanced safety features including anti-climbing technology and improved crashworthiness, thus, reducing the risk of derailments and ensuring passenger protection. They facilitate higher speed with better stability, leading to a smoother and more pleasant ride.
Additionally, the LHB coaches are equipped with a fully air-conditioned hot buffet car; installed with induction flame cooking and provided with automatic fire detection and suppression system.
On the occasion, SCR Vijayawada divisional railway manager south central railway (SCR) Narendra A Patil said, “With the introduction of LHB coaches, passengers on the Satavahana express can now experience a safer, smoother, and more enjoyable journey. The initiative aligns with Indian Railways’ commitment to modernising its infrastructure and rolling stock, further enhancing travel experience for millions of passengers.”
The DRM further said that the railways continue to prioritise passengers’ safety, convenience, and efficiency through technological advancements and service upgrades.
