Hyderabad: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a driver at Jubilee Hills. The survivor’s father and the accused work for a businessman. Taking advantage of this, the accused raped the girl, said police, who registered a rape case against the accused and launched a hunt to nab him.
According to police, the girl’s father and the accused got acquainted while working together and they even used to consume alcohol at the former’s quarter at their employer’s house. Over a period of time, the accused got close with all family members.
He would even visit the servant quarter in the absence of the girl’s father. The survivor, who till recently worked as a sales executive for a private firm, fell in love with a colleague, but due to some differences, her boyfriend was maintaining distance from her. The accused, who got to know this, offered to help her settle the issue with her boyfriend, police said.
Meanwhile, on Thursday night, when the girl’s father went to their native in AP and her brother was at work, the girl and her mother were sleeping at their quarter. Taking advantage of this, the accused barged into the quarter and raped the girl, police said. When the girl resisted, he threatened her with dire consequences. The girl kept quiet out of fear, but on Saturday she broke down before her mother, following which a complaint was lodged.
The survivor was sent for medical examination and counselling, a Jubilee Hills police officer said.
