Karimnagar witnessed a flurry of activity on Monday (Februarry 10) as candidates desirous of contesting the MLC elections taking out rallies on the concluding day of nomination process for the February 27 elections to the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ and Teachers’ Constituencies.
The main thoroughfares in the town brimmed with the supporters of the MLC aspirants converging at the busy junctions to welcome the leaders of their choice on the last day of filing of nominations. The candidates of various political and independent candidates filed their nominations on the concluding day of nomination process on Monday.
According to sources, an overwhelming number of around 51 nominations were received for the MLC Graduates Constituency on the last day, taking the total tally to around 100.
For the MLC Teachers Constituency, 8 nominations were received when the deadline for filing of nominations ended on Monday. In all, a total of 17 nominations were received for the MLC Teachers’ Constituency, when the reports last came in. A host of professionals including advocates, doctors and academics entered the MLC electoral fray.
