Mystery continued on deaths of 3 including 2 cops

Nizamabad:Even as one and half months have passed, police are yet to crack the suspicious deaths of Bhiknoor SI Sathelli Sai Kumar, woman constable L. Sruthi and computer operator of Bibipet primary agriculture cooperative society Nikhil.

The trio were found dead in Adloor Yellareddy village cheruvu (lake) under Sadashivanagar police station limits on December 26.

Kamareddy superintendent of police Ch. Sindhu Sharma and other police officers had rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies with the help of swimmers. The bodies were then sent for post-mortem at government hospital in Kamareddy.

SI Sai Kumar is married and survived by his pregnant wife and a daughter. Constable Shruthi is a divorcee while computer operator Nikhil is unmarried. The SI, Shruthi and Nikhil were found dead under suspicious circumstances. Reasons for their deaths are not known so far.

‘Closeness’ among the three might have drawn them to Adloor Yellareddy cheruvu and later, all were found dead. The speculation is that Sai Kumar might have drowned while trying to rescue the other two.

Another theory is that Shruthi and Nikhil might have thrown the SI into water before committing suicide by jumping into the lake.

Rajender, a resident of Kamareddy, said that police should reveal the facts without further delay. Factual reports should be disclosed to people, he said, adding abnormal delay in investigation raises doubts.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Yellareddy DSP A. Srinivasulu said they are waiting for a forensic science lab report (FSL). “We have collected the call record and other information in the case and it is being carefully looked into,” he explained. There are no CCTV cameras near the incident place, he said.

Sadashivanagar circle inspector B. Santosh is an investigation officer of the death of SI, woman constable and the other person. Financial aid and job opportunities for the family members are on the cards.
