Naidu seeks innovative ideas for revenue boost | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked senior officials to come up with innovative ideas to improve Andhra Pradesh‘s revenues without putting any extra burden on people. Highlighting the shortfall of 87,000 crore in GSDP, Naidu said a strategic approach is required to meet the state’s GSDP targets.
“A vision monitoring unit will be established at the state level, and districts must prepare constituency level plans. Additionally, districts should identify key projects contributing to GSDP growth, which would be tracked through a dedicated portal. Dept mapping with GSDP will also be conducted. We have set 15.76% as overall growth rate target,” he said. The CM also announced that the next collectors’ conference would feature zonal-wise presentations to further refine growth strategies.
Naidu, who reviewed the performance of various depts with special chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and secretaries on Tuesday, wanted all depts to fully adopt the e-office system by the end of Feb. An assessment of its implementation will be conducted to ensure compliance, he said, and asked officials to expedite processing of files, particularly financial files, which should not remain pending for extended periods. He also asked officials to review bottlenecks, identify delays, and implement swift resolutions. “Non-financial files should never be left pending, and budget-related matters must be addressed promptly. It is totally unacceptable to keep files uncleared for six months to a year,” he warned.
While some depts have been clearing files within an average of three days, others continue to experience significant delays. The chief minister identified revenue, home, panchayat raj, and civil supplies as the major areas of concern, emphasizing that district-level administration must be strengthened. He stated that merely transferring grievances is not a solution.
“The quality of grievance disposal must be systematically reviewed. Other states have implemented grievance quality review mechanisms, and Andhra Pradesh must follow suit,” he said.
I&PR commissioner Himanshu Shukla stressed on the need for a flawless system to monitor these services.
