Around 350 students participated in the awareness and interaction programme conducted at St. Ann’s High School in Gopalapuram on Wednesday. The session included a wide range of topics, including physical and mental health, cybercrime, drug abuse and gender sensitivity. Officers from the North Zone police of Hyderabad emphasised the importance of maintaining good health, recognising signs of mental distress and seeking help when needed.
The discussion on cyber safety highlighted the risks associated with online interactions, the importance of protecting personal information and ways to identify and respond to cyber threats.
Students were also made aware of the dangers of drug abuse, with a focus on its harmful effects and the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices. The session on gender sensitivity encouraged respect for all genders, addressed biases and promoted inclusivity in schools and society.
The programme aimed to empower students by equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions and develop healthy habits.
