On Tuesday, Beats, a subsidiary of Apple, launched its latest fitness-centric earbuds—Powerbeats Pro 2—in India. Priced at Rs 29,900, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will be available for purchase starting February 13 in Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple, and Electric Orange colour options.

“Powerbeats Pro 2 is the most impressive product in Beats’ history—developed to withstand intense training sessions and equipped with our most innovative technology and powerful sound. Now with heart rate monitoring for workouts, Active Noise Cancellation, and Transparency mode, Powerbeats Pro 2 sets a new standard in audio for fitness,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Music, Sports, and Beats, in a press release.
Compared to its predecessor, the Powerbeats Pro 2 packs more features and improved battery life while being significantly more compact. This includes the addition of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and wireless charging capabilities. Like all recently announced Apple products, the Powerbeats Pro 2 also features a USB-C port with support for fast charging.
Compatible with Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as well as Android devices, the Powerbeats Pro 2 offers up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge without ANC. The charging case provides an additional three full charges, extending total playback time to up to 45 hours. A quick five-minute charge can deliver up to 90 minutes of playback.
Unlike AirPods or most typical earbuds, the Powerbeats Pro 2 comes with a redesigned ear hook made of reinforced nickel-titanium alloy for enhanced grip and flexibility. This also makes them 20 per cent lighter than their predecessors. They are IPX4-rated, making them splash-resistant.
The integrated heart rate monitor provides real-time performance data during workouts, utilising LED optical sensors that pulse over 100 times per second to measure blood flow. It is compatible with fitness apps such as Runna, Nike Run Club, Open, Ladder, Slopes, and YaoYao in India.
