Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka Directed Officials to extend emergency services to attend issues with electricity supply, currently available in Hyderabad, to rural areas.

At review meeting with officials of the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) held at the B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Tuesday (February 11, 2025), Mr. Vikramarka emphasized the importance of publicizing the call centre services number 1912 for resolving power supply issues. The TGSPDCL last month has announced its decision to expand the 1912 call centre services on power supply related issues to rural areas.

“The government is ready to allocate necessary funds to strengthen the department with the required staff and technical support,” Mr. Vikramarka said.

During the meeting, he reviewed the availability of equipment and measures to meet the demand in the coming days with CEOs of different wings. The Power Minister instructed the officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply, even for a minute, during summer months. He set a deadline of March 1 for completing the construction of sub-stations and other works.

He emphasised the need for officials and staff to be alert around the clock, conduct meetings to evaluate their preparedness, and create awareness among consumers. “The government is ready to provide all necessary facilities to officers and staff,” Mr. Vikramarka said.

The Power minister appreciated staff members’ service during the floods and instructed officials to give incentive awards to staff who provide excellent service.
