Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao landed himself in an awkward situation after reportedly sharing an old video highlighting the plight of chilli farmers in Khammam district. KTR shared the video on his social media account ‘X’, featuring Ch. Koteswara Rao, a farmer from Namavaram village, expressing his grievances in the chilli market yard. In an attempt to criticise the State government, KTR commented on the video, intending to bring attention to the farmer’s plight.
However, it was soon revealed that the video was from 2018, during the BRS regime. Realising his goofup, KTR promptly deleted the post. However, his comments had already gone viral, and Congress leaders were quick to react. Congress social media wing strongly condemned KTR’s actions, stating that his attempt to discredit the government using false propaganda had backfired. “If you try to discredit the government by spreading false propaganda, the same will be turned against you. This is a classic example of that,” Congress leaders said.
