Kurnool DIG inspects police stations in Annamayya district


Kurnool Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Koya Praveen and Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu inspected police stations in Annamayya district on Wednesday (February 12). The visit was intended to evaluate the effectiveness of law enforcement operations and provide essential guidance to the police personnel.

During the inspection, the DIG and the SP assessed outstanding cases, management of station records, crime statistics and the overall law and order situation. The officers underscored the significance of vigilance and urged personnel to perform their duties with integrity and discipline. They also scrutinised the handling of public grievances and encouraged police officers to ensure prompt and equitable justice for victims.

DIG Koya Praveen underscored the necessity of maintaining cleanliness within police stations and instructed the officers to exhibit professionalism and respectful behaviour while interacting with the public.

As part of a proactive policing strategy, the DIG announced the implementation of awareness programmes on a range of issues such as drug abuse in educational institutions, child marriages, women’s safety, cybercrime and white-collar crimes. These seminars, conducted in collaboration with women police personnel, would be held in schools and public venues.

The DIG also highlighted the importance of surveillance through the installation of CCTV cameras, encouraging business establishments and the general public to adopt and maintain security systems as a means of crime prevention. The officials also reviewed traffic management and outstanding challans, instructing officers to expedite their resolution.

Additional SP (Administration) M. Venkatadri Raja Ramesh, DCRB Inspector Thulasiram and police officials from Rayachoti sub-division were present.
