Police book case against former minister Rajini | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Chilakaluripeta town police in Palnadu district registered an SC/ST atrocity case against former Andhra Pradesh minister Vidadala Rajini following directions from the high court. The case is based on a petition filed by one Pilli Koteshwara Rao (aka Koti), who alleged that he was harassed during the previous govt over social media posts, highlighting the alleged illegal activities of Vidadala Rajini. After reviewing Rao’s petition, the Andhra Pradesh high court instructed Palnadu district superintendent of police (SP) to take appropriate action, leading to the registration of a case against Rajini.
According to the FIR, 38-year-old Rao stated that he served as the Chilakaluripeta town president for the CBN Army (a social media group of TDP) from 2016 to 2019. During this time, he circulated posts on social media highlighting the alleged illegal activities of Rajini.
Rao claimed that Rajini held a grudge against him and, following her instructions, the then-Chilakaluripeta town inspector Vaddi Suryanarayana forcibly detained him at the police station from Aug 21 to 27, 2019. He further alleged that during his illegal detention, Rajini’s personal assistants, Rama Krishna and Nagisetty Jai Phanindra Kumar, visited him at the station and abused him using caste-based slurs while issuing threats. He also stated that on the night of Aug 26, 2019, Rajini threatened and insulted him on WhatsApp video call from the then-inspector’s mobile phone.
