The United Arab Emirates launched the Blue Visa system with a 10-year residency permit. The first phase of the Blue visa system is designed for individuals contributing to environmental sustainability.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security, announced the initiative during the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai.
The visa targets individuals who have made significant contributions to environmental protection. Eligible individuals can apply directly through ICP or be nominated by UAE authorities.
The Blue Visa extends the UAE’s existing residency programs, like Golden and Green Visas.
