Arrests in TTD laddu case positive development: Pawan

Vijayawada: Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan expressed deep concern over the adulteration of the sacred Tirumala Laddu, emphasizing the need to uphold the sentiments of millions of devotees who visit Tirumala.
Speaking to the media after visiting Sri Agastya Maharshi Temple and Agastya Ashram in Chottanikkara, Kerala, along with his son Akira Nandan, he acknowledged the efforts of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe the adulteration case. He confirmed that those involved in the malpractice have been arrested and called it a positive development. It is a matter of relief that the culprits have been arrested as part of the investigation. Moving forward, utmost care should be taken in the affairs of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), particularly regarding the sanctity of Sri Venkateswara Swamy’s prasadam,” he added.
He asserted that such incidents should never occur again.”Tirumala Balaji has crores of devotees across the country. The faith and devotion of those who come here should never be hurt. It is truly unfortunate that the Tirumala Laddu was adulterated. I strongly wish that such incidents are prevented in the future,” said Pawan.
Pawan Kalyan clarified that his visit to temples in southern states, including Kerala and Tamil Nadu, was purely personal and not politically motivated. He also mentioned that his trip had been long overdue due to prior commitments and health concerns.
Highlighting another key issue, Pawan Kalyan spoke about red sandalwood smuggling and urged the Union govt to implement a comprehensive national policy to regulate its sale. Red sandalwood is being seized while being smuggled. We have requested the Centre to bring a new policy for its sale across the country,” he stated.
