Hyderabad Bajrang Dal To Celebrate Feb 14 As Veer Jawan Diwas, Not By ‘Any Western Name’

Ahead of February 14, which has been celebrated as Valentine’s Day, the Hyderabad Bajrang Dal has said that instead of the “western celebration” they want people to remember the day as ‘Veer Jawan Diwas’.

Hyderabad Bajrang Dal, Akhil, while speaking to ANI, said, “So far we celebrated February 14 as another day, I’m not going to say the name of the day but we want people to remember the day as ‘Veer Jawan Diwas’. We want to pay our tributes to our soldiers who died in the Pulwama attack. We don’t need to celebrate 14th February as promoted by Western countries.”

Akhil said that Bajrang Dal’s core values are, ‘Seva Suraksha Sanskar’ and based on what the predecessors have said we have to pay tribute to the soldiers who died in Pulwama on February 14, 2019. He said that the future generation should know February 14 as ‘Veer Jawan Diwas’ and not by the name given by the western countries.

In February 2019, 40 CRPF jawans were killed in the deadly Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which was carried out by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

When questioned if they would protest against pubs or public spaces that celebrate Valentine’s Day, Akhil said, that they would not do any such things, but they want pubs and restaurants to put up signs that call for ‘Veer Jawan Diwas’ and to promote the day. This will help youths remember the Pulwama attack and the soldiers who died for them.
