Happy Streets, an initiative by The Times of India, is now all set to arrive at Banjara Hills this Sunday, offering a car-free and fun-filled morning.
From 6:30am to 10:00am, the lane behind the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Banjara Hills (connecting road numbers 10 and 12) will transform into a vibrant space for walking, playing, and fitness activities, giving a chance to unwind, stay active, and connect with the fun community in the city.
This week’s edition promises an exciting mix of activities, beginning the morning with a rejuvenating yoga and meditation session by Bodhi School of Yoga. Zumba instructor Deepak Maurya and his team will follow it up with fitness dance. “This session is designed to ignite your spirits with the fusion of creative choreography that transforms your workout into a joyous celebration of movement. It’s more than just fitness; it’s about dancing to the rhythm of life and embracing the exhilaration of every beat,” said Deepak.
Not just for dance enthusiasts, music lovers can also groove to the captivating instrumental performance by a 3 Piece Band. The three-member band features Yuvansai Vanam, the cajonista, Gangishetty Rishikesh, the pianist, both from class 9, and Rishon Alam, the guitarist from class 11 of St. Peter’s High School, Bowenpally. “Alongside academics, we have a deep passion for music. We are truly grateful to The Times of India for giving us and our school this incredible opportunity and are excited to perform at Happy Streets,” said the trio. Taking it a notch further, DJ Amjad Malik’s energetic beats will be the culminating act.
Apart from the exciting and energetic performances, various stalls on the street promise a wide range of activities, while kids can explore their creativity in painting workshops and art contests by Global Art.
Meanwhile, Gamology will offer giant-sized games for all ages. Pet lovers can enjoy a special pet zone by Pet Paradise and even adopt a furry friend at Bliss Foundation’s adoption drive. “At Bliss Foundation, our pet adoption stall will offer attendees the chance to meet and greet adorable, adoptable pets, and learn about the importance of animal welfare and adoption. We look forward to spreading joy and compassion, one paw at a time!”
