Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Veeragatha was tried to show us in the film ‘Chava’. The film, which stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, has been released in theaters today amid huge expectations. In this review, let’s see how much the film impressed the audience.
Story:
With the death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Maratha Empire was once again extinguished. Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb (Akshay Khanna) tries to secure the Maratha Empire. However, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj (Vicky Kaushal) is unexpectedly obstructing him. Shambhaji chooses his martial arts to the Mughal army. With this evolution, Aurangzeb himself descends on the battlefield. However, in the Maratha Empire, Sambhaji is a backbone and betrayed. Will Sambhaji Maharaj protect his empire in this order? Who is the backbone of Sambhaji with the enemy? If you want to know the film on the silver screen.
Plus Points:
Vicky Kaushal has given excellent performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. His performance in the climax, in particular, impresses the audience. His dialogue delivery and screen presentation are further elevating the film.
Rashmika Mandanna played the role given to her effectively. Despite her preference for her character, she is a screen Presence Limited.
Akshay Khanna performed the role of Aurangzeb. Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta and Diana Penti have done full justice to their roles.
Minus Points:
No matter how good the story is in historical films, its execution should be good. Director Laxman Utekar Direction is impressive, but the screenplay is still a sharp. The screenplay was struggled to engage the audience.
The first half feels stretched. War scenes in the second half are to be more gripping. The back pain and betrayal should be presented with more strong emotion. If so, the story would be more interested in the story.
Although there are a lot of strong characters in the story, it seems that only a few are preferred. If Shivaji Maharaj had a voice over and a little visual glimps, the film would be more impact.
Akshay Khanna in the role of Aurangzeb is very suited, but his character should be given some more importance.
Technical category:
Laxman Utekar Shambhaji Maharaj has presented the heroism with a lot of conviction. But if you further focus on the screenplay, the film will be strengthened. AR Rahman’s music is a descent. Rishi Virmani and Irshad Kamil dialogues are impressive.
The editing work should be still better. Especially in some scenes in the first half, we have an editing deficiency. Construction values are impressive. The visuals in the film look very grand. Saurabh Goswami’s cinematography should be somewhat better.
The verdict:
Overall, ‘Chava’ is a historical action drama. Vicky Kaushal’s excellent performance is strong for the film. But, some stretched scenes, which seem to be a minus for the film. The film will be connected to those who want to see the heroism of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj once again. Common Audience can also try the film on this weekend.
