Industries Minister seeks Centre’s support to set up mega leather parks in Telangana

Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu has sought the Central Government’s support for the establishment of mega leather parks at Rukmapur village in Karimnagar district and Station Ghanpur in Jangaon district of Telangana.

Assistance through DPIIT requested

Mr. Sridhar Babu called on Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in New Delhi on Friday (February 14, 2025) and briefed him about the key industrial initiatives of Telangana. He requested the Union Minister to extend central assistance through Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for the development of mega leather parks and their associated infrastructure including common effluent treatment plants.

NICDC Zaheerabad

Mr. Sridhar Babu briefed Mr. Goyal about the progress of Zaheerabad node of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) and sought the latter’s support for expeditious approvals and release of funds.

BioAsia 2025

The Minister personally extended a formal invitation to Mr. Goyal to attend the BioAsia 2025the premier life sciences and healthcare event, being held at Hyderabad from February 26. The event would bring together global leaders, policy makers and industry experts to drive innovation and collaboration in the sector.

Appreciating the efforts of the State government for promoting life sciences industry and investments, the Union Minister confirmed that he would participate in the event and interact with global leaders participating in it.

Confirms Telangana’s participation in Osaka Expo 2025

Mr. Sridhar Babu also conveyed Telangana’s confirmation for participation in the Osaka Expo 2025 for showcasing its innovation, industrial prowess and business potential on a global platform. He handed over a letter from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy confirming the State’s participation to the Union Minister.
