The prime accused, K. Veera Raghava Reddy, in the case of assault on Chilkuru Balaji temple priest Ranga Rajan had moved Telangana High Court on Thursday (February 13, 2025) seeking a direction to quash a local court order remanding him in judicial custody.
Justice K. Sujana of the High Court adjourned the hearing to Friday (February 14, 2025)after the government counsel sought time to secure instructions. The petitioner’s counsel Sunkara Naresh contended that the sections of law invoked against the accused were not connected to the allegations levelled against him.
A case was registered against Raghava Reddy and others by the Rajendranagar police of Cyberabad after they attacked the priest. Raghava Reddy was remanded in judicial custody by the local court.
