Bhopal: A 25-year-old groom in the district headquarters of Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh died of suspected cardiac arrest while going in a procession to bride’s place, being mounted on a horse, for marriage.
The tragedy took place on Friday night.
A video showing the groom, Pradeep Jatav, initially feeling uneasy and then slowly inclining his head on the horse, went viral on social media on Saturday.
He is son of the local gram panchayat sarpanch.
People going along with him were seen in the video clip holding him from falling and then dismounting him from the horse and later putting him on the ground.
He was rushed to the local hospital where doctors declared him dead, police said.
The groom was earlier seen in the video dancing with the guests before mounting on the horse to proceed to the marriage pandal built in the bride’s place.
A pall of gloom descended on the groom as well as the bride parties with the incident leaving them shell-shocked.
A few weeks ago, a 23-year-old woman Pareenita Jain died of cardiac arrest when she was dancing to the tune of a Bollywood song at the wedding function of her cousin in the district headquarters of Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh.
The woman who was an MBA graduate hailed from Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
