Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha has demanded the state govt introduce a complete report on the recent caste survey, including village-wise population of various castes, in the assembly. She said that although Backward Classes (BC) and Scheduled Castes (SC) commissions submitted reports, they were not made public.
Speaking at a round table with representative of BC organisations in Khammam on Saturday, the MLC said that if the reports of the dedicated commissions were made public, people would know whether the reports contained realistic figures or not.
On the BC reservations in local bodies, Kavitha said that while there were 46% BCs, how could the govt say only 42% reservations would be given, even if they go by the faulty figures? After the resurvey covering those who did not participate, the BRS leader said the BC population would increase by another 2-3%.
She demanded wide publicity for the resurvey, which begins on Sunday. She asked the state govt to introduce separate bills for BC reservations in the local bodies and BC D for Muslims to ensure there were no legal problems in the future.
